Ford's new fun and fashionable compact car, Figo, has been named as a finalist in the prestigious South African Car of the Year competition. The 1.4l Ambiente has been selected as the derivative that will represent the Figo range in this year's competition. "South Africa's top motoring journalists have selected the Ford Figo 1.4l Ambiente as one of the leading vehicles introduced over the past 12 months," says Ford Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Service, Dean Stoneley. "The Figo will go up against nine other finalists with the winner being announced in the new year."
The Ford Struandale Engine Plant has attained a landmark achievement in the build-up for the Puma Global engine export programme, with the first validation build engines being produced ahead of schedule. The historical first engine emerged from the brand-new Puma Assembly Hall on 25 November, setting the ball rolling for the initial series of engine assembly trials that are being used to evaluate the capabilities of the new and refurbished facilities.
