Eastern Cape Motors PTY LTD began in January 1985 with the management buyout of the McCarthy's Mazda dealerships in Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and East London.
The Boksburg Ford & Mazda dealership, Consolidated Auto was added to the Group in June 1990.
The Nissan, Fiat & Alfa franchises were acquired in Port Elizabeth in March1992.
In March 1997 a new Mazda dealership was built in Newton Park Port Elizabeth.
A new Mazda dealership was built in Kingwilliamstown in late 1997. After Ford's first consolidation phase in 1999 Eastern Cape Motors acquired Grovenor Ford in East London, and lost the Mazda franchise in Kingwilliamstown.
In late 1999 all Eastern Cape Motors Mazda branches also acquired the Ford franchise.
Land Rover and Volvo were purchased in East London in July 2001.
Ford and Mazda in Kingwilliamstown was regained in August 2003 after the Ford dealer went insolvent again.
In the second phase of Ford SA's consolidation, Pioneer Ford Port Elizabeth was acquired in September 2005, and absorbed into the North End facility.
At the same time in September 2005, Land Rover and Volvo Port Elizabeth were also purchased.
A brand new multi-million Rand, Magnificent, State-of-the-art dealership was built on North Rand Road in Boksburg. We re-located to the new premises in October 2005.
In October 2006, a completely remodelled, upmarket Nissan dealership opened its doors in Uitenhage Road, Port Elizabeth.
Early January 2007 saw the opening of a brand new, really outstanding, stand-alone Fiat and Alfa Romeo facility in Uitenhage Road.
On the 1st may 2011 Eastern Cape Motor Group opened the doors of their new state of the art Mega Ford & Mazda dealership at William Moffett Port Elizabeth.
On the 1st of June Volvo Eastern Cape PE opened its doors at it new Cape Road Newton Park address. Huge showroom floors & window frontage set off this magnificent new Volvo dealership.
The Eastern Cape Motor Group is an independent PTY company with four directors, Chris Theodosiou, Bobby Lowenthal, Barrie Burnett and Stephen Theodosiou.
